Ethical Apparel Africa Selected for London Stock Exchange Group’s 'Companies to Inspire Africa 2019' Report
Report identifies a new cohort of fast growing and dynamic private businesses across Africa, including BCtA member Ethical Apparel
January 29, 2019 - Ethical Apparel Africa is a sourcing company working to catalyze a sustainable growth path for the emerging apparel sector in West Africa. As brands look to grow their manufacturing base in Africa, EAA provides end to end production management support: expert technical guidance, independent quality control, sourcing, logistics, and compliance assurance. Our vision is to demonstrate that ethical manufacturing can and should be done at scale, not just associated with luxury or expensive product.
EAA has a two-pronged business model. We provide brands with sourcing services, including raw material sourcing, product engineering and production management. We also function as a capacity building organization, providing technical and compliance support to African-owned factories to transfer skills and drive continuous improvement. This capacity building is always provided free of charge to our factory partners and is supported via partnerships with development agencies such as USAID and GIZ.
Ethical Apparel Africa has been identified as one of London Stock Exchange Group’s Companies to Inspire Africa 2019. The report is a celebration of Africa’s and most dynamic growth businesses. To be included in the list, companies needed to be privately held, and show an excellent rate of growth and potential to power African development. More detail on the methodology can be found in the report online at www.lseg.com/inspireafrica.
“We are proud to be featured in this year’s report and look forward to continuing to positively impact workers lives and create sustainable jobs as the apparel industry grows in West Africa” Keren Pybus CEO
