Business Leaders Commit to Fight Poverty in India

The Business Call to Action (BCtA) and the International Business Leaders Forum (IBLF) brought together more than 35 executives in Mumbai, India to discuss barriers to creating and implementing inclusive business models.
BCtA's Amanda Gardiner kicked off the workshop by introducing inclusive business models, outlining the agenda and goals of the meeting and sharing BCtA's initiatives. Other speakers and panelists included Manju George of Intellecap, Sarita Bahl of Multi Commodity Exchange of India, Yashashree Gurjar of Avantha Group, Rashmi Soni of Ericsson India, Graham Baxter of IBLF, Mark Kramer of FSG Social Impact Advisors, Joe Phelan of IBLF-India and Sachin Joshi of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII-ITC).
BCtA's member companies Ballarpur Industries Limited (BILT), Multi Commodity Exchange of India (MCX) and Ericsson India shared their experiences and highlighted best practices and challenges in implementing and sustaining inclusive business models.
BCtA is planning follow-up workshops in India for 2012.
