Upcoming Webinar: Small Farmers and Business: Best Practices From the Field, Jan 21
On 21 January 2016, the Business Call to Action (BCtA), in collaboration with Hystra and support from Danone Ecosystem will host an interactive webinar discussion. Agriculture is an important source of livelihood for the low-income rural communities around the world. An estimated 1.5 billion people directly depend on small farms for their income, and these farms in turn produce nearly 80 percent of all food consumed in the developing world. Smallholder farmers are also among the poorest and most food insecure people on the planet. A striking three quarters of the worlds extreme poor 800 million people live in rural areas solely off agriculture, while nearly half of the worlds undernourished people are smallholder farmers.
Join this interactive discussion built on the evidence-based insights on how agribusinesses can successfully work with smallholder farmers from Hystras recent report, Smallholder Farmers and Business.
