Babajob provides real time access to jobs in India and joins the Business Call to Action

New York/Bangalore, 23 December 2013 - Leading Indian based social enterprise Babajob has announced it will join the Business Call to Action (BCtA) with plans to connect over 15 million low-income job seekers in India with better job opportunities by 2016.

Founded in 2007, Babajob.com is a web and mobile social enterprise dedicated to bringing better job opportunities to the informal job sector by connecting employers and job seekers via the web and mobile applications.

By leveraging mobile technology, Babajob is working to provide job seekers with greater access to information about job opportunities in their communities as it allows employers to hire the workforce they need more quickly and efficiently.

In India, where a large segment of the economy relies on mobile technology, Babajob has worked to empower job seekers by offering them relevant information and greater decision-making opportunities while connecting them to potential employers. The company has over 1,300,000 job seekers registered across India.

It is vital that low income job seekers be able to compete for jobs with up-to-date information about opportunities in the marketplace, said Sahba Sobhani, Acting Programme Manager, Business Call to Action. Babajob is an efficient way to help employers find suitable employees and vice versa.

This new commitment with the BCtA will further Babajob's range of technology to meet the needs of a diverse workforce seeking valuable job information and a mechanism to create their personal profiles through the Babajob network, said Sean Blagsvedt, CEO Babajob.
