2015 Africa Prosperity Summit: Promoting Wealth and Wellbeing
The Business Call to Action is delighted to provide knowledge support for the Legatum Institute's 2015 Africa Prosperity Summit: Promoting Wealth and Wellbeing taking place on May 20-21, 2015 in Tanzania. The event is supported by the Ford Foundation and will feature experts from academia, civil society, business and politics to discuss how to promote true prosperity.
The Legatum Institute is an international think-tank and educational charity that aims to promote prosperity. The Prosperity Index is the Institute's signature publication, which ranks 142 countries in terms of wealth and well-being.
Marcos Neto, Team Manager, Private Sector & Foundations Team, Bureau for Policy and Programme Support, UNDP will speak on behalf of the Business Call to Action in a special session highlighting innovative inclusive business initiatives that our members are implementing in Africa and beyond.
Special Session B: Prosperity Pitches - Ethical Business for Prosperity (May 20th, 3.30pm - 5.00pm)
During this session the attendees will have the opportunity to listen to real experiences from successful African entrepreneurs. Based on their personal experience, our speakers will provide examples of how to start a business in remote areas; transform a social need into a business opportunity; expand a commercial activity (even in business-unfriendly environments); succeed as a female entrepreneur and other business-related challenges.
