The Impact Goal

Brimore joined Business Call to Action in December 2020 and made a commitment to provide 45,000 active low-income women distributors with income earning opportunities and create more than 1000 full-time jobs for low-income people directly and indirectly through partner manufacturers and suppliers by 2023.

The Market Gap

In 2021, about 3.3 million Egyptian families are financially supported by women as the main breadwinner and 49.5 percent of women are being deprived from education, training and adequate employment opportunities. Women in Upper Egypt have lower economic participation due to cultural and educational reasons. The market does not have enough opportunities for women who are looking for jobs with increased incomes due to their limited educational exposure and lack of training that has flexible hours that suit their cultural needs. Local suppliers and SMEs have been struggling in the current fierce market due to insufficient investment, facing a challenge in displaying their products in an attractive way to the customers and reaching the right customer base.

The Business Solution

Brimore is an end-to-end distribution platform where manufacturers can list their products and an interconnected network of women sell these products in their local circles, either by creating an individual point of sales or by managing local trade shops in their neighbourhoods. Brimore’s philosophy is relocating the marketing, sales and distribution expenses of the products on its platform on people who buy and refer the products. This is why Brimore as a service gives manufacturers a smooth way to market, and as a platform gives its low-income women distributors social and economic empowerment opportunities.

The women distributors in Brimore’s network come from urban, semi-urban and rural areas, most of them are housewives, and the rest of them are unemployed. Most of them are not financially independent and they wait for pocket money from their family members. Brimore business model helps integrate them in the labour market and creates a revenue stream thus enabling their economic empowerment.
