What are quality inclusive business models? They are commercially-viable business ventures that engage bottom of the economic pyramid (BoP) populations, leverage the companies’ core competencies to advance the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and have demonstrated a track record of business and social development success.
To help more companies accelerate their quality inclusive business models, BCtA supports our members to conduct ongoing measurement of their social and environmental impact along with operational performance following a four-step process: assessing impact measurement readiness; designing an impact framework; monitoring impact; and analyzing data.

BCtA is going to launch an online ‘Impact Measurement Learning Lab’ incorporating the above four steps in 2017 to support a greater number of companies (both members and non-members) for better measuring and managing their impact. Four online modules will be offered as a public good, and anyone interested in the modules can access them. Hands-on support provided by BCtA will be customized to companies. Since 2015, BCtA has been offering impact measurement services to 21 inclusive businesses in agriculture, education, energy, health, and housing sectors to collect social and operational performance data using mobile technology, aiming at supporting our members to scale their effort through business model innovation and external communications by having better access to customer and market insights. BIMS helps our inclusive business members conduct ongoing measurement of social impact along with financial and operational performance. BIMS provides technical expertise and technology tools to design and implement survey-based data collection from the field through employees, customers and other stakeholders.
